Terms of service
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Draft for launch review. Operator and contact details must be completed before customers can purchase.
Syl's operator operates Syl in the United Kingdom.
Using Syl
These terms apply to Syl's hosted service. You must be at least 18 and have authority to use any accounts, systems, or information you connect. If you use Syl for an organisation, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if someone gains unauthorised access.
Your bots and content
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give us permission to store, process, and transmit that content as needed to provide Syl, including to the model providers and tools used by your bots. You are responsible for having permission to use that content and for the instructions you give.
AI outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete. Review outputs and actions before relying on them, especially where they affect other people, money, legal obligations, or important systems. Do not treat Syl as a substitute for qualified professional advice.
Subscriptions and usage
Your order states your plan, AI funding option, total price, billing period, and allowances. A monthly subscription renews each month until cancelled. We use Stripe to process payments. Any applicable tax is shown before you confirm payment.
Included AI allowances and computer time are shared across your team and reset at the start of each billing period. Unused allowances do not roll over. Different models and tasks consume different amounts of AI usage. Bringing your own model keys means your model provider bills you directly under its terms; your Syl computer allowance still applies.
We do not automatically charge for usage beyond your Syl allowances. An exhausted allowance pauses work that depends on it until it resets or you choose an available upgrade. Plan changes and any resulting charge are shown before you confirm them.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel renewal in billing settings or contact support. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period, and does not delete your account. If you are a consumer, statutory cancellation and refund rights still apply. Contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase to request a refund; we will refund that initial subscription payment. This does not limit any longer or additional rights the law gives you.
Acceptable use
Do not use Syl for unlawful activity, unauthorised access, malware, fraud, harassment, or harmful content involving children. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, bypass safeguards or usage limits, or access another customer's data. Only connect accounts and run tools that you are authorised to use.
Connected services
Third-party tools and model providers have their own terms, charges, and privacy practices. Their availability and behaviour can change. Syl may need your renewed permission when a connection expires or its permissions change.
Service changes and suspension
We may restrict access to address a security incident, unlawful use, abuse, or unpaid charges. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to resolve it. We will give notice of material subscription changes before they affect a renewal, as required by law.
Ending your account
You can request account deletion from account settings. Save any work you need before deleting it. Required billing, dispute, and security records may be retained as described in the privacy policy. Cancellation, deletion, and any outstanding payment obligations are separate.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms removes consumer protections or excludes responsibility that the law does not allow us to exclude. If there is a problem with the service, contact us so we can work to resolve it. Your mandatory local rights remain available.
